How to Download TikToks

Saving a TikTok video only takes three steps: copy the link, paste it into a downloader and save the file. But each device puts the file in a different place, and iPhones need one extra step. This guide walks you through each one, so you can find your video right away.

What You Need

• The link to a public TikTok video
• A web browser: Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox
• A little free space on your device

You don't need a TikTok account or any app.

Step 1: Copy the TikTok Link

In the TikTok app: Open the video, tap the Share arrow on the right, then tap Copy link.

On the TikTok website: Open the video and copy the address from the top of your browser.

Both link types work, whether they start with tiktok.com or vm.tiktok.com.

How to Download TikTok Videos on Android

1. Copy the video link in TikTok.
2. Open Chrome and go to TikTokio.
3. Paste the link in the box and tap Download.
4. Tap MP4 HD (or MP3 for audio only).
5. When it's done, tap Open in the message at the bottom, or find it in Files > Downloads.

Most phones also show the video in the Gallery app within a few seconds.

How to Download TikTok Videos on iPhone

1. Copy the video link in TikTok.
2. Open Safari and go to TikTokio. (Other browsers may not save files properly.)
3. Paste the link and tap Download.
4. Choose MP4 HD. Safari asks if you want to download it, so tap Download.
5. Tap the blue arrow in the address bar to see your download, or open the Files app and go to Downloads.

To move the video to Photos: Open it in Files, tap the Share button and choose Save Video. It now shows up in your Photos app with your other videos.

Safari needs iOS 13 or newer to download files. If nothing happens, check for an update in Settings > General > Software Update.

How to Download TikTok Videos on PC or Mac

1. Open the video on the TikTok website and copy the link from the address bar.
2. Open TikTokio in a new tab.
3. Paste the link and click Download.
4. Click MP4 HD or MP3.
5. Open your Downloads folder to find the file.

If the video opens in a new tab instead of downloading, right-click the download button and choose Save link as.

Common Problems and Fixes

"Invalid link"
You may have copied only part of the link. Go back to TikTok, tap Share > Copy link again and paste the full link.

"Video not found"
The video is private, deleted, or only visible in some regions. Open it in TikTok to check it still plays.

The download button doesn't work on iPhone
Use Safari, update iOS, and turn off content blockers for our site if you use one.

The video saved but there's no sound
TikTok may have muted the music for copyright reasons. There's no audio for the downloader to save.

The file won't play
Try a different player, like VLC. On older phones, a very high-resolution file may play better if you choose a lower quality.

Tips

• Use Wi-Fi for long or HD videos.
• Download soon if the video is new and might be removed.
• Rename your files after downloading, so you can find them later.
• Credit the creator if you share a video with their permission.
